Dan
Well first off, iTunes now has movies. And more. TV shows. Audiobooks. Podcasts. And not to mention music. You can now flip through your music collection like you do with a jukebox, flipping through the cover art. Get iTunes 7 now. Then there's the new iPod Nano. Black. Silver. Blue. Pink. Green. There's even an 80GB model out now. 40% brighter screen. Don't believe me? And finally the new iPod Shuffle. At just $79, this miniscule thing can hook on to your jean pocket and let you carry up to 240 songs weightlessly with you. Woot. -dan
Yankee4Life
Thank you for this information Dan! Now I know what I want for Christmas.
brutushayesosu
I already have XBMC and all the movies and tv shows that one could possibly need. That iPod shuffle sounds like a good xmas gift for little brother however.
Dan
I seriously think that the next year...about till summer, anyway...is very critical for Apple. At this pace, Microsoft will have a really hard time keeping up. Dells will always be the cheap home PCs, but in terms of quality, Apple's ahead. -dan
JoeyMcM93
Apple is making huge advances in everything. Apple is taking over the home PC world.
Dan
Well see that's the thing. Apples are the ideal choice for programmers/designers because of their supurb capabilities and organization system. It's even better if you switch to a Mac from a PC, because the majority of web surfers out there still use PCs. A lot of families still can't afford a $999 iMac...they're too computer illiterate to switch anyway. -dan
UncleMo
Stop the love fest now and listen to the Modini from the East. I once tried this junk out and the capatability with the files you dl to your ipod is nil. So I saved my self the money and bought me a cheap 256mb mp3 player on ebay and never looked back. The_Jerk
Holy gigabytes Batman. 80? That's a little much. That's more than most laptops and some desktops. I still have a 40GB, but its on of the orginals, before the colour, photos and movies. But I don't need it for that, I have my Mac Powerbook for that. I'm curious to see the file sizes of these movies, because ripping DVDs with a program like ImToo, you can have a 150-200MB version. But I doubt I'd be able to take advatage of it anyways, the Canadian store just has music, podcasts and some music videos. Not even TV shows yet. I see the next step now as the integration of cell-phone/wireless internet features in the ipod, but I would assume that that would be at least a year away. With this and the upcoming release of Mac Os X Leopard, I can't see any reason why the general public would still flock to Windows.
Mobius
i've been thinking about getting a mac book pro, which is extremely nice but also rather pricy starting at $1999, any opinions?

The_Jerk
At first glance I thought they ripped off this program I have called Coverflow. Turns out, they have now just bought the rights to the program and merged it into iTunes. Good idea.
Sandlot
I have a toshiba gigabeat 10gb music and photo player, I'll stick with that until now. I think after that I wouldn't mind buying a blue ipod nano. :)
bravesj858
i don't like the look of the new nano. it looks too childish, while the old nano seemed to retain the look of ipod's little bro, this one seems to be more like the mini type persona of cheap and teenage. i have the first gen nano, and i like it more than i would the new ones, but that's my take. but plus on 24 hours of battery life, that's almost double of the old ones. and from what i heard, itunes 7 is full of bugs and it's gotten lots of critisim. it took alot of podcast options away...sigh. i'm sticking with 5 on the pc and upgrading only to the last version of 6 when i get my macbook next month. Get a Dell. It's cheaper (by at least 50%), and get this, actually runs programs! whoa!

chubbyd
My wife has an iPod shuffle. It was the first, and last apple item I will ever buy. The quality is horrible, we're on our third one in just over a year, the customer service is one of the worst systems I have ever seen, and being in the auto industry, I have seen some doozies, and the thing is as user friendly as an F-16. Windows and Microsoft in general have their own problems, but compared to Apple, they're very manageable.
waterboy100
The shuffle is a P.O.S. but the rest of their stuff is very good. I have had my ipod for 11 months withou any problems *knock wood* and i just bought a macbook laptop and it is great. as for customer service the first thing you should do i look at the apple forums or do a google search. their phone service kinda sucks unless you can get transferred to an american tech.
