Guess that song

Y4L's lyrics made me think of this song for some reason. If anyone can name the artist, I'll Paypal you a dollar:

"Well, I wake up in the morning

The alarm gives out a warning

And I don’t think I’ll ever make it on time

By the time I grab my books

And I give myself a look

I’m at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by"

--Eric

That's the "Saved By The Bell" theme song. Don't know the artist though. I loved that show growing up. I loved Kelly....Grrooowwllll!

Ok, one more.

Im waiting in my cold cell when the bell begins to chime

Reflecting on my past life and it doesnt have much time

Cos at 5 oclock they take me to the gallows pole

The sands of time for me are running low

Hallowed Be Thy Name

Hanging out with an Iron Maiden freak in the early 90s is paying off

I just heard this song during Super Size Me (and I shouldn't be up at 2:30 AM watching it, but it's an awesome movie).

Here are the lyrics:

I'm your mama, I'm your daddy,

I'm that nigga in the alley.

I'm your doctor when in need.

Want some coke? Have some weed.

You know me, I'm your friend,

Your main boy, thick and thin.

I'm your pusherman.

PS I just found the lyrics really funny. I do not condone these actions though :D

Nobody's yet gotten this one:

Alright

I'm in love with modern moonlight

128 when it's dark outside

I'm in love with Massachusetts

I'm in love with the radio on

It helps me from being alone late at night

It helps me from being lonely late at night

I don't feel so bad now in the car

Don't feel so alone, got the radio on

Like the roadrunner

That's right

Or:

I have a secret to tell

From my electrical well

It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells

So the room must listen to me

Filibuster vigilantly

My name is blue canary one note spelled l-i-t-e

My story's infinite

Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest

Gonna drive past the stop n' shop, with the radio ah-on!

Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers. My band used to cover this one! We called ourselves the Sex Pistols (just kidding...their version is funny, but pretty much ****.)

From my electrical well

Blue Canary, eh? Wouldn't be in the outlet by the lightswitch would it? Are you perhaps interested in building a Little Birdhouse in Your Soul (TMBG!)?

Does Dial-A-Song still work?

Two for two with two great songs, unless you've pulled a trick on me!

I think it actually does - they still have a number on some of their albums for it, but I've never tried calling.

Got nuttin' up my sleeve!

And as I walked on

Through troubled times

My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes

So where are the strong

And who are the trusted?

And where is the harmony?

Sweet harmony

I'll leave this one for someone else to get, but my band covered this one too! I sang and always hit a foul note on the first harmony.

I've never heard the original version, just the famous cover by E.C.

I think I've heard the original, but if I have, I don't remember it much compared to E.C.'s.

OK, here's one. I will check in the morning to see if anyone got it. And if you do guess, give it a listen. It's got a great guitar solo.

It's a long way to nowhere

and I'm leaving very soon

On the way we pass so close

to the back side of the moon

Hey join the traveler if you got nowhere to go

Hang your head and take my hand

it's the only road I know

from 2005

I've been digging the ground

Beneath the dust and the clouds

I see miles and miles

Of junkyard piles

I wanted hope from a grave

I wanted strength from a spade

What gives you comfort now

Might be the end of your vein

Crows are pulling at my clothes

The wind got my fingers froze

Standin' all day, keepin' watch

Over all the treasures we've lost

Sometimes the jail can't chain the cell

And the rain's to plain to tell

All alone by a barren well
