Rosters sound great, thanks for your hard work. I can't seem to find MVP08 Total Conversion. Where can I get it? I can't access www.mlbmods.com. Any help would be much appreciated.

The only place where you can get the MVP08 Total Conversion mod is over at Mlbmods. That's it. If you can't get access over there then there is nothing anyone can do.

I am having a problem with the roster when trying to play the game. If I go into the hitting mini game in spring training the game crashes when the game goes to switch from the initial view of the batter to the actual hitting mode. Has anyone else run into this. The only thing I did to the roster other than add the injured players is delete a couple of players (Lowell, Glaus). Could this be a facepack issue?

Also - I did not have this problem with the previous version 1.56 that I had been using (which by the way was outstanding!).

I believe the missing player is Shane Reynolds

So what you want to do DodgerDog is:

1. Go into you MVP 2005 Directory

2. Open data folder

3. Open database folder

4. Double click attrib .dat file

5. Open with Notepad

6. Scroll down and paste the following code (0f844e070,0 Shane,1 Reynolds,2 37,3 0,4 0,5 0,6 10,7 27,8 115,9 29,10 244,11 1,12 0,13 0,14 0,15 0,16 1,17 743,18 1,19 5,20 11,21 0,22 0,23 43,24 12,25 11,26 10,27 10,28 2,29 0,30 0,31 1,32 1,33 0,34 0,35 0,36 0,37 0,38 2,39 0,40 2,41 1,42 0,43 0,44 0,45 7391,;) in its correct alphabetical ordered spot (in my game it is between Matt Reynolds and Ryne Reynoso

7. Save and close notepad

8. Start your game and it should work

I knew there was a pitcher that was the basis of the batting pitcher. I wondered about that because it happened with somebody elses roster a couple years ago.. Thanks I'll give the above a try when I have time. Thanks again.

Just tried it and worked like a charm.....thx

Yep, that fixed it. Thanks. Doesn't help my season but, oh well.

No Problem guys. I too had the problem once, but found the answer in some forum.

I believe that if you edit the roster in mvpedit and then export into your game again, you'll have to add Shane Reynolds again, but now it will only take like 2 seconds.

Much obliged man. I've finally settled into an offline setup that has been quite challenging and is as close to playing a human opponent as just about any sports game I've played. I'm glad the rosters are having the effect I was hoping for and I'm continually trying to tweak and adjust....mainly been trying to catch flaws with pitchers and I'll definitely be staying with this throughout the offseason, making moves and preparing for next year.

The initial goal will be to have the as correct as possible 40 man rosters for the majors for opening day.

Will this fix solve when the game crashes to the desktop while playing an exhibition game with this roster?

I'm willing to help out on player stats if you're looking for some assistance. I'm sure I'm not the only one sick of seeing A-Rod with  54 homeruns  . Idk how they're done since I haven't seen a batter's average on MVPEdit, but I can get going as soon as I find the right way.

Something like that wouldn't be as much of a need for me as it would for someone who plays exhibition matches only.

I think what is most useful are the things related to in-game attributes that affect the players' performance. The main thing I tackled over this past year were the player contact and power as related to stats current and within the past 5 years, relatedly. But there are other things to consider, such as speed (which I changed around based on 2K nos.) and maybe even more prominently, fielding.

I think it is at a point where you could almost simplify the numbers/ratings. For example, throwing accuracy: make 5 or 6 categories related to a given attribute number. I mean really, what makes one guy's throwing accuracy a 75 compared to a 73?

I think it could be easily accomplished by doing something like: 20 - awful; 35 poor; 50 decent; 65 average; 80 above average; 95 excellent. I think other attributes, like pitch control can be handled like that as well.

I hear what you're saying. There's definitely more important things to a roster than stats. It just feels a bit weird having updated rosters and old stats. It shows big time if you start a Dynasty or Owner Mode with the schedule updater.

Seeing this made me wonder do you have any idea why 2007 stats show in exhibition when it's updated to 2009?

Read through this support thread and the support threads for the other roster versions, you may find an answer. It is probably a cyberface problem and/or you didn't install the MVP08 total conversion mod. first.

Well, predominantly, it's a cyberface thing. It may work if you install 05 as usual and then add the updated cyberface paks you see at mlbmods.com

There have been a good number of cyberfaces released this past year, but it is up to you to assign the correct numbers so that they show well.

The EASIEST thing to do is install via the MVP08 total mod conversion
