  1. Been playing this all weekend it just came out. Great job Don!
  2. No problem... We're all a team on this site.
  3. You're probably trying to import a new bitmap that is of larger size than the original. I'm guessing that you are getting a message that the buffer size needs to be increased? You'll have to edit the index.fsh file and increase the buffer size. Change the BUFSZ line to something really big like 999999. That should probably fix it.
  4. Even better that they are merging the statistics already found at seamheads.com Awesome news! I was already working on a project to enter all this data into the Lahman database so they would could easily import Negro League teams with the click of a mouse. This is essentially how I created the 1923 integration mod I'm working on. Dennis, if you or anybody else wants a copy of this Negro League modded Lahman database, let me know. Incredible. I'm still working on but this will speed up my work quite a bit. We can simply copy and paste this data into Excel and create spreadsheets to impo
  5. Thanks for Sharing this Homer. You can do 15 uniforms per team? I've found my limit to be 12. Beyond that, the frontend crashes when I scroll the uniforms if I try to put more previews in the uniforms.big file. It crashes for me anyway. How were you able to get to 15 or is that a typo and you meant 12?

I had been keeping this to myself for a while but decided to put it out there just in case anybody else wanted. If anybody wants to improve upon this, please feel free. Rename the stadium to a stadium slot in data/stadiums that you want to replace. With this stadium, all the classic stadiums that were included in Oldtime Baseball are now available on the
  8. Thanks palooka. I'm pretty sure I'd get paid more if I could do the work you do :-)
  9. Version 1.0

This updated file will give you new and varied stadium introductions. In it, you will hear Vin Scully make references to the Green Monster, the Ivy covered Walls of Wrigley Field, the planes from La Guardia next to Shea, Cheesesteaks in Philadelphia, and the Palm trees of Los Angeles, just to name a few. Added variety to your Legends from the Booth experience. Try it out with some of your favorite teams/stadiums and see what you think! Unzip and then copy the included file to c:\program files\ea sports\mvp baseball 2005\data\audio\cd\spch_pbp

Copy all contents of this zip file into c:\program files\ea sports\mvp baseball 2005\data\audio\cd\spch_pbp run the koufaxfix.bat (just double click it) It will replace Scully's Koufax name with an improved version. The old one was done with Mel Allen saying the "fax" part of his name. I was able to find an audio with Scully saying the word "facts" and it was easy enough to splice this into the audio instead. Sounds much better.
  11. I think you're the first one who's actually mentioned "The Voice of the Turtle". Yeah, I sneaked that one in there for the True Classics fans. BTW, you guys are doing a great job with TC1915.

This is a tool which will allow you to see and extract the contents of any packed file. Not only can you use it extract standard BIG files but you will also be able to extract/import into the troublesome audio BIg files which are another animal altogether. Originally written for the NHL series, this program works on many file formats used in MVP. It can even extract and parse out the .dat files located in tnamdat and stdnmdat.big. These dat files are not single audio files but rather multi-file format. Good luck with this tool. I have found it very handy and Legends from the Booth would
  13. No need to apologize for your efforts. This is good stuff. Keep it up bro.
  14. Thanks for the props guys. Also, kudos to Dennis for the nice little collage of the three broadcasters he made for me.

This website article: http://baseball.about.com/od/baseballinpopculture/tp/top10broadcasters.htm rates them #1 thru 3 as the best baseball announcers of all-time. All members of the Baseball Hall of Fame and winners of the Ford Frick Award; Mel Allen was the first to receive the award in 1978 (along with the pioneer of broadcasting, Red Barber). Vin Scully was next in 1982 and Ernie Harwell received his in 1991. Vin Scully is generally regarded as the best bas
  17. Don, As one of the original members of the TC team, I'm sure you'll appreciate a few more of Mel's "how 'bout that"'s. You'll hear a few more of these at key times. I love the classic announcers!
  18. This thing is COMPLETE. Expect the download to be posted before opening day.
  19. Do you have access to the NHL ASF Studio? It's a suite of applications written by a Russian programmer. They were meant for the NHL series but some of them work just fine with the MVP audio series. It does an awesome job with the .AST files. If you can't get it, let me know and I'll send them to you.
  20. Dennis, Can you show us how you are converting your mp3 to .asf format? Try this using the sx application: sx -sndstream -rs19500 <filename>.wav -.asf -mt_blk instead of -sndstream, you might try -ps2stream Depending on the file, one or the other might produce a slightly smaller file. The -rs switch will resample your audio. Adjust it down until it just fits. This along with changing your audio stream to mono should do the trick.
  21. Thanks for the kind words, Don. Have you been getting my updates? You haven't mentioned anything so I'm wondering if my FTP links have been getting spammed by your e-mail server.
  22. Those are my all-time rosters. Mine are slightly different than Homer's. I posted my rosters on one of the older threads in Homer's mod preview. I don't really want to steal Homer's thunder so I am not releasing mine until after Homer let's his out.
