Thames was also the hitting coach when they had pretty good hitting seasons, just a couple of years ago. A bunch of players underperformed this year at the plate. I don't think that's all Thames' fault. It's either a panic move or an entire change in their hitting philosphy. I agree with letting Nevin go. They just sucked on the basepaths.

When said cheating leads directly to World Series rings, I think that puts it in a different level than league-wide steroid abuse, which was sort of a worst kept secret by everyone involved, including MLB officials. Great stuff as always. Regarding Jeter's 'Flip play', I read a bunch of times that Jeter was supposed to be where he was, and that he was actually late to get there. Supposedly that's how they played such a situation and they had practiced it all the way back to spring training of that year.

A guy emigrated from Senegal to Portugal about a decade and a half ago, to become a soccer player. Evidently, somewhere along the way, he got Portuguese citizenship and he became the leader and most outspoken person in an organization called 'SOS Racism', which is there to prevent and call out acts of racism. And of course he had numerous other political 'jobs' for which he is of course handsomely paid with taxpayer money. He makes it his mission to label my country as racist. Our monuments are racist. Recently dead war-heroes are 'war criminals who do not deserve respect (mind you, this was our most decorated soldier, and he was African-Portuguese). He referred to our Police Department as 'those shit cops'. Everyone who disagrees with him is obviously a fascist. I mean... this guy came from another country, was feed and taught by our state, gained citizenship... but we're racist?! Like in every other country, there is racism here and there. But this guy is the living picture that Portugal, as a whole, is the exact opposite. So yeah, he keeps fostering the idea that we indeed are racist and oppressive. Otherwise he'd lose his cushy job as head of 'SOS Racism'. Just to keep things in persepective: Our most celebrated athlete before there was a Cristiano Ronaldo, was for years Eusébio, who came from Mozambique. As do many of our most beloved athletes. Our justice minister is black. Our prime minister is of Indian ancestry. Our most decorated solider came from Guinea-Bissau. What am I missing here?!

I have been recycling for over a decade, I converted my beloved BMW (I love all things BMW by the way) to LPG, which is far cleaner than gasoline and also cheaper. But I'm not buying his Great hype for one second. People generally stop paying attention to puppets when they turn 12 or so. I can't stand her hollier than thou attitude. She is being played by other people and it pisses me off royally. Had she been in a wheelchair, everybody would be pointing fingers and pointing out that her handicap is being explored. Since it's just a mental issue... Oh well. Whoever writes her speeches should be ashamed of what they're doing. 'You have stolen my dreams and my future'. HOW DARE YOU? Really? I personally know SEVERAL people who have had to deal with real broken dreams and lack of opportunity. Friends of mine have lived through genocide, witnessed mass graves, lived without running water or the most basic of human needs until they were grown ups. Many friends of mine have lived in Brazilian favelas. Too many to count really. Never heard them complain of a stolen future. Some of them are big business owners now and make far more money than I do and give back to their communities. But hey, it's the blonde girl from Sweden who's suffering here. And then she refuses to fly because of the consequences to the environment. So she sails across the oceans on a carbon-free sailboat. Well... Her whole crew has to fly and use those evil planes because not everybody can fit in that boat. Not everybody has friends with royal blood who can lend you such a boat, which probably wasn't that clean to build. You want to save the environment? Do what the Portuguese did centuries ago, sail on wooden boats. They're perfectly fine you idiots, we reached and ruled over half of the word on the backs of those things.
