What sliders do you recomend and game level ?

i use this datafile w pro and the sliders from MD...kind of like but open to suggestions!

I'd also like to know what sliders and game level is suggested. I just installed this datafile and i'm looking to start a new dynasty. I read earlier in this thread that you (MD) were using some different hitting mods...is that still the case?

not sure what you mean about hitting mods? can you clarify?

my sliders are posted early on in this thread. I am playing on Pro mode so use those sliders...for a while I was playing All Star and posted those sliders but I switched so just be sure you use the sliders for Pro if you play Pro and the sliders for All Star if you play All Star.

I'm using the datafile(great by the way) and Hoop27's All-star sliders. Warn you, they are rough at first, but I am getting challenging games.

Again, MDaddy, great datafile man. :wtg:

I didn't see this asked but how do you restore batting camera 4 to default?

For batting cam 4 the following are the default datafile lines. ***All four need to be changed.

hey MD, i love your datafile. the gameplay is so much more realistic. i just have 1 question:

is there a line i can change in regards to turning double plays? sometimes when i go for a DP the throw to first from second is delayed, like the fielder is taking his time. this sometimes costs me runs so i was just wondering if i could fix this

thanks....

to give some input on your question....check out lines like these....

0x92192343 2<throwing.DoublePlayThrow.OnBase.f_dblplaythrowc.AnimInfo.Throw>;0 Medium;1 63;

0x7873ee47 2<throwing.ThrowFail.f_dblplaytakeoutl.AnimInfo.DropBall>;0 Extreme;1 52.0;

0xad86e1e1 2<throwing.DoublePlayThrow.TimeWarp>;0 Start;1 End;

0xc1769810 2<throwing.DoublePlayFailBeforeThrow.TimeWarp>;0 Start;1 cCollisionSyncPoint;

Above and below these lines are a whole bunch of fielding and throwing animation datafile lines which can be modded. There are a whole lot of them and I didn't do much with these. I am more of a ball physics kind of guy, meaning I am pretty good at modding that and not animation and cameras. Anyhow, I followed a little of what Rodkey did with his datafile back in 2005. The last two I noted seem to be the ones dealing with timing based on the SyncPoint info. But really I am not sure exactly what to do with these. Search around these lines in the datafile. If you figure it all out, let me know.

Hey MaddiesDaddy,

I like your Datafile and I have create Sliders for Realistic Games....but I have one Question. Is it Possible to make more Foul Balls? I already have the Sliders for Foul Balls Frequency on +50 but I think there could be more Foul Balls. Is there a Chance to do this??

Thx

I agree there really should be more foul balls. One quick way is to reduce your hitting contact sliders. You can reduce these and you may see more.

As far as the datafile is concerned....even after the amount of time I put into this mod I still was not 100% satisfied. However at some point I had to cut my loses. There are so many conact variables that affect one another that you have to be careful not to "over do" one...for example you can reduce the size of the ball such that it is harder to hit it "right on the screws", this will increase foul balls, dribblers, pop ups, etc. however if you over do this it becomes very difficult to hit the ball hard at all. So then you can try and counter balance this by adjusting other parameters but if you over do those there are other areas of hitting which suffer.

it can be a very vicious cycle.

bottom line is yes, I am sure there is a way....but someone would need to be much better than I at modding datafiles and/or have infinite time to try and find the balance between increasing the number of foul balls to a more real life amount while still being able to put the ball in play a relatively realistic amount of time....

I spent a lot of time on this part of the datafile and unfortunately there are literally hundreds of contact variables that pretty much affect each other....I basically got things to what I found acceptable and played with my sliders to help.

good luck and thanks for using the datafile!

Increase your infielder/outfielder speed in the sliders if you are having trouble fielding the ball. You can also put fielding on manual and the cpu will move the fielder in the direction of the ball before you get control of him.

Reducing the ball speed off the bat can cause unwanted changes to ball physics.

Thanks pdub....the datafile already has been modded to slow down the ball a bit. Can't over do this too much otherwise nothing will get through the infield....especially down the lines between the corner infielders and the respective foul line and or base.

In the <audioai> section, "LDMinVeritcal" means minimum line drive vertical. Its basically the minimum height a linedrive will be when the game decides you made linedrive contact. Beware, though. Not only does it increase its height, but it increases its distance, which means linedrives hanging too much get caught by the outfield when they should have dropped in for a hit. It can also make linedrives look like flyballs. To fix this you have to lower "BloopMaxDistPeakRatio" or "BloopMinDistPeakRatio". If you increase the LDMinVeritcal and start hitting liners to the wall or for homers like crazy, decrease the "BloopMaxDistPeakRatio" by small values like .5 if you don't see a difference, try 2.0. Same thing with the "BloopMinDistPeakRatio" but you increase it if you are getting too many infield lineouts that look like basehits but die before they reach the outfield. You can try increasing just the "BloopMinDistPeakRatio" and you may see some good results.

The thing is, what kind of lineouts are you getting? Low and sharp liners that die quickly, or liners that look like they are going to loop over the infield but the infielder backtracks into the short outfield to make the catch? I get my share of infield lineouts, but I also get good liners that jump out of the infield nicely. Most of it is timing and your swing aim.

I would talk about the <batter> section, but when I messed with it I screwed more things up than I fixed. Good luck, I suggest you learn the datafile because you can create the most satisfying gameplay for yourself. I can't give you much more help.
