What's the greatest sports moment you have ever experienced?

Well I started a thread back in June about this so I will add it here too. My wife and I are Tiger season ticket holders, and as of the 27th of this month will have been married one wonderful year. Back to the sports moment.

Anyhow, I friend ended up not being able to go, so my wife went in his place, and we saw and may never see again a no-hitter thrown by Justin Verlander. It will always be the greatest sports moment in my lifetime! I have always wondered if I would ever see one, and it happened. I cannot even explain how electric it was that night. Even more so than when Magglio hit the homer last year to get us into the World Series.....Just wanted to share again.

Actually present at the event?

2007 BCS National Championship game (Was expecially awesome because the two full rows infront of me were filled with Buckeye fans...getting to see their expression of assured winning to the bottom of despair was great).

Including just experiencing other than physical presence, i.e. watching on t.v.:

1997 World Series game 7 (I can't believe how little publicization this game got...extra inning come from behind win in game 7 is excitement to the max)

2003 World Series game 6...greatest big game pitched game I've ever seen.

2007 Fiesta Bowl...most exciting football game I've ever seen.

And ofcoarse 1997 Sugar Bowl, and 2006+2007 NCAA Basketball Championship games.

This year's One Game playoff. No contest. A game with such high stakes going from something that looked like a lost game, after the Scott Hairston home run, to knowing you're going to come back on the greatest closer in history, with the Matsui double, is something else. No greater feeling than after that game.

2007 World Series game 4 ... when the Rockies sweep the Redsox :biglaff:

That hasn't happened yet? Hah ......

Actually, it was when the Mets came back on Bill Buckner and the Redsox in the 1986 World Series. Mooooooooookie ... Moooooooooookie ...

Personally, it was when I was playing baseball in gym class back in the 80's. We were in the field winning by 3 but they had the bases loaded 4 minutes before the end of the class. My sister, who used to play ball with every other kid on our block was up at bat. My teammate being a total idiot told everyone to play in as when they play in for a pitcher in the majors, saying, "she's a girl, she can't hit .. the game is over". So, everyone played in and she hit the next pitch over his head for an easy grand slam. For the rest of the year, this guy heard it from everyone else. That was a good moment. :biglaff:

I have a couple...

- I hit a walkoff single in game 2 of the semi finals in little league.

- July 24, 2004 Varitek vs A-Rod. I was 6 rows behind the fight.

- Hit a game winning Grand slam to beat our rival school this fall.

- Mike Piazza's return to Shea.

- And opening day in 1996 at Shea. Too little to really remeber but I know I skipped school and told my teacher I was playing hookie. :-)
