10/24/06:

Yankees

A. Defenitely not

B. Upsides: Upsides: Can hit maybe 20 HRs, bat .240, might go on a hotstreak. Downsides: Old, will want to be paid more than he's worth, not exactly a fan-favorite, sorrounded in contreversy, Yankee management will be shunned forever, and be accused of being rich, filthy dirty slobs. (which is not true: they are rich, but not dirty, filthy, or slobs.)

C. No big banners coming out to celebrate, just a small little peice of text on the scoreboard that says, "fun fact! barry bonds has hit 755 HRs in his career!"

btw djeagles, can we pm you for ideas for the q o da day?

Mets

A. An emphatic Hell No!

B. Only one upside, brings in more fans to boo the hell out of him. Downsides, booed the hell out of. Will play as often as Cliff Floyd. Still doesn't answer question of Left Field very well.

C. Yes, its NY. It'll be in the papers and eventually they will have to honor him, in some way or he might go baroid on the Mets.

Well...I'll answer this from three angles.

Giants

A. No. It's time to get younger.

B. Mo Money, Mo Money / Have to wait yet another year to find out who the pretender and contenders are in the farm system. Also have money tied up in him when it could be used to land a young, top tier free agent.

C. Huge deal...no. But, there will be a small ceremony the next day honoring the achievement since he still has yet to be found guilty of anything other than being a jackass.

Any NL team:

A. No. He doesn't contribute enough in the field.

B. Mo Money, huge presence in the lineup / Bad publicity and standoffish attitude that brings the team chemistry down

C. Same as above

Any AL team:

A. Yes. As a DH, there are a slim few (Pujols, A-Rod) that can hit and produce like Bonds can.

B. Same as above

C. Same as above

ANGELS

1) no

2) upside is he'd bring a bat into the line-up. downside is that i don't like the style of play that he brings and he'd bring unwanted publicity and i'd rather save the money to get somebody like Soriano

3) we wouldn't be a huge deal, but we'd do something special about it the next day. if we don't have him on our team then no... maybe a screen show before the next days game... maybe

or

PHILLIES

1) no

2) upside- good power. sometimes. downside- we already have enough left-handed bats and this is utley/howard's team... there's also not alot of space for him in the outfield.

3) same as above

Braves

A) No, we've got a pretty talented young outfield. No need to make it any older or less talented, plus, we need some pitching, the money can be better spent.

B) See above, there's just no use for him.

C) No, because no matter how many he hits, the all-time home run king is still, and will still be, former Brave, Hank Aaron. Celebrating Bonds is a slap in Aaron's face.

Celebrating Bonds is a slap in Baseball's face. Nice post Bama.

Indians

A) No, we have the best DH in the AL and Bonds is too much of a liability in the field

B) Upside: Still has plenty of pop and OBP. Downside: Alot of negativity around him, injury prone, expensive, bad defense, old, rarely get to see his hitting skills because of IBB's

C) Hope not.

Question For Wednesday, October. 25:

You have replaced Commisioner Bud Selig. Given the task of moving four teams....2 National, 2 American....where would you place them?

A. Give reasons for moving said teams.

B. New team name, colours, name the field (Make it up, if your cities don't have one.)

Atleast one team has to be placed outside of the United States....be it Mexico, Canada, Japan, etc.

I am also going to do a non-baseball related question for those interested:

Who is going to win the NBA Championship this year?

A. American League - Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners. I thought it was disrespectful for the Baltimore fans concerning that display when thousands of fans walked out of the stadium during a game in protest of their owner's running of the team. Regardless of their owner's moves, that is an insult to the players they should be cheering on. I would move them to Canada, and maybe change their name, I don't think it would be good for two AL East teams to have names involving a bird in Canada. And for the Mariners, I think they should swap places with the Orioles in the East, and play in South Carolina.

National League - Flordia Marlins, Colorado Rockies. The Marlins have no fanbase whatsoever, but they deserve one. And a new stadium as well. I would move them to North Carolina, which would probably offer a better fanbase than Miami, and they would have an interleague rivalry with the new team in SC, the Mariners. And for the Rockies, they should move to a state without a team, like Nevada. They would make a lot of money in Las Vegas.

B. Baltimore Orioles become the Ontario Maples, their colors black and blue. They would play in Ontario Stadium. Seattle Mariners become the South Carolina Mariners, or South Carolina (fill in the blank, can't think of anything). The colors: Green, White, and Black. They would play at (fill in the blank) Field/Stadium/Arena. The Florida Marlins would become the North Carolina Fire, colors black and red. They would play at the Fire Dome. The Colorado Rockies would become the Vegas 7's (like when you hit the jackpot, not trying to rip off the 51's) or Vegas Rollers. They would wear Gold, Red, and Black. They would play at (name of Vegas casino) Field.

NBA Championship: New York Knicks

Yay! I'm Bud Selig, I can run baseball now!

I would move the Toronto Blue Jays (sorry Canada fans) because the money that is generated there is not quite the same that can be America. They get shipped off to Tampa Bay. I move the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the Japanese Leagues because they are kinda a joke here.

I move the Rockies to Japan with the D-Rays, because they have no history and basically not a contender in most years. The Brewers move back to the NL and now we have 14 teams in each league.

A. Oops, reasons listed above.

B. Osaka Devil Rays, Seibu2 Rockies, Tampa Bay Devil Jays, Milwaukee Brewers. Sorry, but too lazy to do the rest of B.

NBA Champions: Da Bulls are back! Go Knicks. :(

Sorry, what I meant was that their history is a joke. I don't wanna get rid of a team that has history, because you will be depriving a fan base. The difference between the D-Rays and the D-Backs is that one atleast has had year(s) of contention. If you moved another team down to Tampa, I don't think that the fanbase would care as much as a place that had a 50 year history.

Also, with the talent leaving, it would be put in a pool and drafted based on worst record, so that way we don't lose the talent level from those up and coming stars.

Semi- :offtopic: Wouldn't baseball be a better game with less teams? Better talent dispersal?

NBA Championship: New York Knicks
WITH YOU ALL THE WAY ON THAT ONE, D-UNIT!!!

now to the question: sorry, d-unit, i don't agree about the o's; they have a rich and storied history, and it's not time yet to throw it away. (but then, why did the dodgers move to LA?) HOWEVER, if possible, i would move them tio the NL, and switch them with the Nats. the senators were an AL team, explaining the Twins, and it would be nice to move them back. The O's would stay the same, and i would change the nationals to the Congressman, and- well, no never mind. ok, i'll call them the democrats. :D The colors would stay, and Camden, but the nats deserve a new stadium.

2 more teams: The A's move to the Dominican Republic, stay the A's, but the colors change to Yellow and Red. Seattle moves to Tokyo (don't they already live there?) and change to the Suns. mmm, maybe i don't like the suns, it's maybe a bit too facist japan of the 40s. but i'll keep it anyway.
