Mlb2K11 Roster Editor

version 1.35 is now available http://tywiggins.mvpmods.com/buy11.html

This fixes an error with importing uniform information from a text file. With the last version, the uniform would get assigned to the wrong team.

I'll probably release the standalone uniform program on Thursday. I still need to test it and put some finishing touches on it.

ty or anyone else: I'm trying to edit some uni colors. Example: the Cubs sleeves look fine, but their caps are a washed-out light blue. I can change the color of their letters, numbers, sleeves and gear using the editor, but in-game their caps along with the blue in the Cubs logo on the jersey front still appear as a washed-out blue color. Is there a way to correct this, or is that an editor limitation? Thanks.

I'm going to try to get a standalone program done tonight that can import the uniform information to all .fxg, .cmg, .ros files in the Saves folder. Uniform modders will be able to distribute the standalone program with their uniforms.

Can you make it a command line program?

Here's the standalone program to update uniform information in the roster/franchise/my player files.

http://tywiggins.mlbmods.com/downloads/mlb2k11uniformtool.zip

Rapidshare: http://rapidshare.com/files/456384116/mlb2k11uniformtool.zip

You are free to include this program with any uniforms that you upload to mvpmods or mlbmods or any other site.

1. Use version 1.34 or higher of my Roster editor to export the uniform information for any uniforms you include in your download.

2. Place the text file you created with step 1 into the same folder as mlb2k11uniformtool.exe

3. edit runthis.bat and replace "test.txt" with the name of the file created in step 1. (Put quotes around the file name if it has any spaces in it)

4. Now if you double click runthis.bat , the program will ask you if you want to update all of the files. If you press y or Y, it won't ask you about every individual file. If you press anything else, the program will ask you before it updates each file. Backup files are created in the same folder as mlb2k11uniformtool.exe

5. If you want to include this with your uniforms, make sure to include mlb2k11uniformtool.exe , runthis.bat, and the text file from step 1.

Note: This program gets the location of your Saves folder from window's registry. It works on my computer. (Win 7 Home Premium x64) It could still use some testing on other operating systems.

Don't change the blue color just adjust the contrast to make it darker.

yeah i see a difference in the unmodded uniforms. For one 2k just didnt apply the colors right, but I believe it may have to do with the contrast ratio, especially with the hats. They look saturated. I modded the yankees home and away uniforms. Ive got the home uniforms (according to my eye) i think almost 95% accurate. Using tys roster editor u can get the sleeves and uniforms number colors and helmets just to the color they need to be using the color selector.

What I did with the hat is I exported the DDS file and and used the paint.net progrsm snd in the adjustment tab used the contrast/brightness adjsutor darkened the contrast of the hat. In my mod I think I have it perfect where if you look quickly the hat almost looks black but it has that deep navy blue shade that the yanks have. Also I did the socks/stirrups that way and you can tell they are navy blue because when a player has a black shoe on you can tell the difference.

i think the right shade has more to do with contrast adjustment rather a new color. If you dump a darker color in you will lose the stitch lines in the hat and the air holes. If you adjust the contrast dark enough where you can still see those things that will do.

Thanks for the response. I was wondering how to color the hats (and jerseys) just using ty's editor, but I see now from your other post below that I need to export the dds file and use another program if I want to do all that. Sounds like it's maybe too complicated for me. Thanks again.

first u need the mod tool then a paint program like photoshop and paint.net.I do all my work inside the mod tools folder.Copy a uniform file and place it inside the folder that ur working in.Run the mod tool and open up the uniform file.U will see a sequence of numbers, for instance the sequence #05 is the jersey and pants and stirrups file.U would want to export that into ur working folder. Then my suggestion is use photoshop for the jersey files.Just drag the uni file to photoshop and it should open up the file. Then do ur modding to how u want the uni to look. When ur done save it as a .dds then import it back onto the mod tool and it saves it.copy the uni file and add it back to the 2k folder and start thegame and u should see ur work that u did.Make sure u have all the original uni files copied and saved somewhere else in case u mess up or want to revert back. The jerseys and the caps are about the easiest to work with the ,numbers and names on the back of the uni are a lil harder this year.

oh and if u have photoshop make sure u find the .dds plugin to add.Im not sure if newer version of photoshop have the .dds in or not as i have an older version

The plugin would still be needed for Photoshop CS5, as the format is not natively supported. It can be downloaded here.
