Endy Chavez takes the delivery from Jonathan Sanchez and deposits it over the right field wall in the

first inning to give New York a 1-0 lead.

2vizas4.jpg3vizqi0.jpg

In the bottom of the first, Barry Bonds hit a ball deep to right center that was tracked down by former

Giant Moises Alou. Omar Vizquel was caught in no-man's land, but got back to first safely after Alou's

throw in was wide of first (left). Vizquel tried for second, but Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca backed up the

throw and fired to second to easily get Vizquel (right).

Carlos Delgado went off today, going 4-5 with three doubles, a home run, and four RBI.

5sanjc4.jpg

Jonathan Sanchez only lasted 3.2 innings today, surrendering six runs on 11 hits before being pulled.

The Giants fell behind 6-0 before Barry Bonds hit a two run home run in the fourth inning. The Giants

would pick up two more runs on solo shots by Randy Winn and Todd Linden (not pictured), but would

eventually lose the game 8-4.

by pitch as he took a slider from Brian Wilson off his right leg.

Zito Stellar in Three-Hit Complete Game Against Rockies

510endym8.jpg

1winey8.jpg

Barry Zito was perfect on the night until the bottom of the fifth when Randy Winn dropped a can of

corn from Brad Hawpe.

2bakzp4.jpg

With a no-hitter intact by Barry Zito, Jeff Baker came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the

seventh. Baker worked the count in his favor, finally forcing Zito to get one over. When Zito did, Baker

jumped all over a fastball, driving it to dead center to end both the no-hitter and the shutout, giving

Colorado a 1-0 lead.

3lewcn0.jpg4lincd3.jpg

The Giants answered Colorado's offense in the top of the next inning. (Left) Fred Lewis, on to pinch-

run for Barry Bonds who singled, steals second to put runners on second and third for the Giants.

(Right) After Pedro Feliz struck out, Todd Linden came through with a two-run double to give the Giants

and Barry Zito a 2-1 advantage.

6zitoda5.jpg5lopgr4.jpg

(Left) Barry Zito delivers a pitch to Javy Lopez with runners on second and third and two outs in the

bottom of the ninth. (Right) Bruce Bochy's decision to stick with Barry Zito with Tim Lincecum ready to

go paid off when Lopez could only muster a check swing grounder back to the mound for the last out

of the contest.

T9: Lewis single scores Zito, Winn

W – Zito (3-2) L – Ramirez (3-2)

If he had a better WHIP, he should definitely be considered.

Also, let's get those new portraits in there! :)

Brian Bannister has only started three games so far...but he's destroying peeps. He might actually be better than Meche, which is a good debate for the Royals to have :D

Portraits:

I'm thinking I'm gonna wait for the release of the entire portrait.big - I'm too lazy to install all the individual packages. :D

It's currently being uploaded...

How's EME doing?

The stats say he's 2-15, but they don't show the bad luck that he (like most of the team) has had lately. He's making solid contact and hopefully the ball will start finding some holes.

He's currently platooning with Mark Sweeney at first. Sweeney started off well enough that I thought he deserved a shot to play everyday. However, Sweeney's average has dropped below .300 now and it looks as if the wear and tear of playing most days is starting to get to him. So EME might get a start or two against righties to see how he does.

I don't expect to make any roster moves for a couple weeks unless something drastic happens. Hopefully we can string some wins together and get out of this slump.

Giants Win Game, Lose Bonds

511endjt7.jpg

1tavre1.jpg2tavua9.jpg

Rockies center fielder Willy Taveras was a home run short of the cycle tonight, but had a night to forget

on the basepaths. (Left) In the bottom of the first, Taveras attempted to go to third on a hard ground

ball to second, but was gunned down by Kevin Frandsen for the first out of the inning. (Right) In the

bottom of the third, Taveras tried to go first to third on a single by Todd Helton, but was out by a foot

on the throw from right fielder Todd Linden.

3molce6.jpg

Giants catcher Bengie Molina got San Francisco out in front early with a two run shot in the second

inning.

4bondsyv1.jpg

Barry Bonds hit home runs number 14 and 15 on the season tonight, in the third and fifth innings re-

spectively. His second home run gave the Giants a 6-0 lead.

5bondslc1.jpg

Despite the win, the Giants clubhouse was a somber one following the game after Bonds left in the

seventh inning with an apparent knee injury. The injury occured when he made a diving catch on a foul

ball by Kazuo Matsui. He is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow morning.

Scoring

T2: Molina two run HR

T3: Bonds two run HR

T5: Vizquel grounds into a double play, Cain scores

B7: Tulowitzki solo HR

T8: Linden grounds out to short, Feliz scores

B9: Sullivan double scores Hawpe

MRI on Bonds' Knee Negative, Placed on 15-Day DL with MCL Sprain

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Giants announced today that an MRI on left fielder Barry Bonds' knee was negative and that the slugger suffered only an MCL sprain in last night's game against the Colorado Rockies. Manager Bruce Bochy was relieved by the news:

"We dodged a bullet there," said Bochy. "Obviously, with the problems he's had the last two years, we expected the worse. But hopefully a period of rest will get him back to us ready to go. He's really been swinging the bat well lately, which is something that the team has struggled with this season."

Bonds was placed on the 15-day DL, but is expected to be ready to go before that time. In the meantime, Dan Ortmeier was called back up and will be available to pinch hit tonight.

There was also a minor league roster move as Nate Schierholtz was promoted to Class AAA Fresno from Class AA Connecticut.

Once again, keep up the good work here.

Damn, the Yankees suck! 18-17? No one can hit!

Thank you sir :D

The Yanks took a 1/2 game lead over Boston now, so maybe they'll get a streak going for ya. :toothless:
