Introducing MVP Baseball '98, a complete overhaul of just about everything! This mod has literally been over 15 years in the making, with frustrating restarts and computer crashes and losing files and everything, but at last it's done, in time for the 20th anniversary of MVP Baseball 2005. Features: In this mod, you'll be able to play in all of the 30 MLB parks, with era appropriate signage. You have legit ballparks for each minor league and spring training stadium. All classic stadiums have been replaced to stadiums that were still standing in 1998 (albeit perhaps a bit modified, like Jarry Park, which is now a tennis stadium). You'll see a bunch of new, never released cyberfaces that I created. In addition, you'll have the chance to play as any number of "Comebacks" for retired players, including Nolan Ryan, Kirby Puckett, Don Mattingly, Fernando Valenzuela, and many many more! All players have accurate birthdays to reflect their ages in 1998. If you'd like to use the ScheduleUpdater tool, I will be releasing a mod shortly that will have the legit birthdays for when you roll back the clock. You just won't be able to play the All-Star Game due to errors with that. Uniforms! I got my start on this site as a uniform mod creator, and I put my heart and soul into these uniforms. All teams have throwback uniforms and alternates. All minor league teams that had alternate uniforms have them. So sure, you might not ever play as the Prince William Cannons, but if you do, you'll be able to wear their softball top alternates if you wish! All players have proper uniform numbers, as best information as can be provided. Portraits have been updated so that every player who has made the Major Leagues now have audio and a picture. Some pictures are low quality because they were ripped from baseball cards, but I just had to do my best with that. Players that never made the MLB have the logo of their current big-league club as the default. All team, stadium, and player audio has been updated to so that every player has at least play by play names, and every stadium and every team has correct audio, to the best of my ability. Menu music featuring all of your old favorites, from Ken Griffey Jr. presents Major League Baseball on the SNES to MLB '99, feel the nostalgia as you browse through the menus. For those that wish to use the Schedule Updater tool, a separate download has been created with proper birthdays for that. Just a reminder, you must manage/sim the All-Star Game if you use Schedule Updater. NEW! (6/27/25): For those that want to play the most accurate version with all of the real life injuries, a new separate download has been added. Please follow the instructions to properly get things working, especially if you don't want to play as the Yankees. Limitations: Due to hard coding, the winner of the All-Star Game will have homefield advantage. If you wish to remain era accurate, you'll have to win as the American League in 1998, National League in 1999, and so forth. Using the schedule updater means you have to simulate the All-Star game or your dynasty will crash. Like with many TC mods, playing multiple games may result in a crash, so be sure to save often. Away bullpen cameras not lining up at 3Com Park (San Francisco) and neither home nor away bullpens are lining up correctly at LA Memorial Coliseum. The San Diego Padres World Series team's uni select screen may say that the uniforms need to be unlocked. This is not true and you can scroll to select the uniform and it will load into the game as normal. If you are playing in certain miscellaneous stadiums (Doubleday Field and Jarry Park among others) and you see a MISSING TEXTURES message pop up in red and green, TURN COOPERSTOWN EFFECT OFF. This will solve the problem. I would recommend turning off Cooperstown Effect for your MVP profile entirely, since it won't be necessary for anything in the mod. Acknowledgements: A big thanks goes out to all the modders that came before me - andy82, Pirate, Sean O, MarlinsMY, Hory, Kraw, DylanBradbury, TyWiggins, Rolie, DennisJames71, salva, Bodhiball, MarkB, Kennyess, Homer, Trues, and many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting right now. A special thank you as well to Jim825 for the installer and to Yankee4Life for encouragement along the way! Please enjoy, and be sure to leave a review!
  2. Just an update regarding the issue - it's not just a bigGUI thing or a directory thing. It's happening on clean installs and it's happening when using TiT as well.
  3. Hmm... I'll have to do some digging as to how EAZip works. I was hoping it'd have a graphic user interface to make it easier, but looks like I might need to create some .bat files or something like that. Bah. But oh well, it's something that I can do pretty easily. It's not pressing or mod-breaking or anything like that at least.
  4. Thanks, I'll give that a try later tonight!
  5. So this is a new one and I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this - I recently modded a logo's FSH file. Did everything as normal. Opened up each individual picture inside the FSH, erased it and then pasted in the logo I wanted. Then made sure that my alphas are 8-bit BMPs. Packed everything back up with nfshtool. Reimported it into the logos.big file and compressed it.... and now the game crashes. I re-open the logos.big file and then it looks like there are a couple of other FSH files that are no longer compressed and much smaller than they were. The logo file I re-imported was l065.fsh and when I reopen, l001.fsh and l017.fsh and l021.fsh were all uncompressed and only about 14,000 in size rather than the normal 36,000. Even after re-compressing those files, the game still crashes and I had to revert to the clean logos file in order to boot the game back up again. Anybody else with a similar experience? Programs used: Adobe Photoshop, nfshtool, bigGUI, EA Graphics Editor
  6. All I got is that it was definitely written between August 1 and September 2, 2003. How I can tell: Aaron Boone is listed together with the Yankees. Valerio de los Santos is listed together with the Brewers. Aaron Boone came over via trade to the Yankees at the July 31 trade deadline, and I doubt Heyman would have a list at the end of deadline day. On September 2, 2003, Valerio de los Santos was purchased from Milwaukee to Philadelphia. Edit 1: Can pinpoint it to between August 1st and August 26th, since Oliver Perez was listed as a member of the Padres, and he was traded to the Pirates in the Brian Giles deal.
  7. Hmmm not sure about the 23. I'll have to do some digging.
This is a good first effort. I would suggest using Photoshop or other photo editing software so you can remove the background around the logo.
  8. I have been able to edit every single team name and stadium name audio without issue and here is the tutorial I created. Hopefully this helps, since I have used these exact steps to edit several teams/stadiums. If you still have issues after using this tutorial, I can't help further.
  9. Could you please post how you solved this? If someone has this issue in the future, it would be good to know how it was fixed, rather than just how you fixed it. Some people (namely myself) use the search tool to see what the solutions are. Thank you in advance.

  11. Last ditch option is the extractor tool, which can be found in the MVP Baseball 2005 - Tools & Editors section of our downloads. You may have to change the language to English since I think it's somthing different in the default settings, but that's how I've managed to get tricky team sound files from MVP05. Open the .big file in that, and if that doesn't work, I've got nothin'.
  12. Make sure the .big file isn't set to "read only". If the file is read-only, it won't let you load or extract anything.
  13. Only other program I can think of is bigGUI. It's not great, but it should do the work.

After literal years of trying to get this to work, I've finally cracked the code on how to edit team and stadium audio. If you're looking to finally update the various leagues to their present day team names, if you're looking to finally have that new corporate sponsored stadium name, or if you want to roll things back for a Total Classic, this tutorial will teach you how to do just that. The tutorial comes with a MSWord document and the NHL 07-06 ASF Player, a tool needed to export files.
  15. So according to multiple current players, the Yankees analytics team has been overwhelming with new players, bombarding them with all sorts of information that they don't necessarily know how to decipher. When you don't have a manager that can communicate what all these numbers mean, it's going to lead to dips in performance. And the Yankees have gone all in on analytics to the point it's paralyzing. It's like freaking pumpkin spice. So when you get away from that, you're gonna do better.

    Site Issues

No luck there either. I disabled my ad blocker and my popup blocker and I'm still having issues with getting the two factor window to pop up. Kinda frustrating. Ended up disabling 2FA.

    Site Issues

Hey all. Having an issue using Microsoft Edge where I can't get the 2 factor authentication window to pop up. I've disabled my popup blockers and ad blockers, and nothing is coming through. It's the most recent version of Edge on Windows 11. Was able to access things via Chrome though.

As a treat for those who have been waiting patiently for MVP Baseball 1998, I've created this intro video for the game. I'll be trying to convert it to .vp6 so that it can actually play in the game as the intro video. But we shall see. Hope you enjoy the flashbacks to 98!
  19. Looked around but couldn't find anything on this topics... Anybody know how to work TyWiggins' DL Editor? I'm able to get to the point where it says "Press I to import, anything else to export", so there's clearly a file I need to import. How do I go about getting this file, or what do I have to put in a text file in order to get a proper disabled list to get uploaded? Thanks in advance.

Another correction of a mod here. This time it's Sean O's fantastic Exhibition Stadium. The stadium is clearly a masterpiece of modding, but one minor thing overlooked was the makeup of the field. In Sean O's original, there was artificial turf, but there was the normal dirt infield. With this updated mod, I've corrected the field surface by changing the color of the turf a little bit and then changing things from the dirt infield to the sliding pits that Exhibition Stadium featured. You'll also notice some late 90s logos on the outfield walls. This is because Exhibition Stadium will feature as one of the Classic Stadiums in the MVP 98 mod. This mod will replace the SkyDome/Rogers Centre in a default install of MVP Baseball 2005. Always remember to back up your files. Enjoy!

    Seibu Dome

    Version 1.0.0

Another re-upload of Salva's incredible work, and another stadium that had a coding error that corrupted the cram32.fsh file. Once again, I was able to resurrect the missing textures to remove the errors, and so that you can enjoy the fully modded Seibu Dome. You'll notice that beyond the outfield are trees, which is because the Seibu Dome is actually built like that, with views of the greenery around the dome. This will replace Metropolitan Stadium in a default install of MVP Baseball 2005. Always remember to back up your files. Enjoy!

This is an edited re-release of salva's Tokyo Dome. There were multiple issues with the cram32.fsh file that salva had created, and I was able to fix them. You'll now be able to play in the Tokyo Dome without missing textures and without the huge "Giants" banner in the right field bleachers. This stadium will overwrite the Astrodome in a default install of MVP Baseball 2005. Always remember to back up your files. Enjoy!

This is a uniform mod for the Beloit Sky Carp, the rebranded High-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Included are the home and road jerseys, font files, and uni select screens. Please note that this will add two uniform slots. To install, simply use TiT. Always remember to back up your files.
