  1. 1971 Baltimore Orioles Alternate Orange Uniform

Here is the 1971 Baltimore Orioles Alternate orange uniform set. This uniform was manufactured by Powers Athletic for the Brooks Robinson Sporting Goods Store. The font used is technically called "Powers Varsity", but Powers called it full block as per attached image. This uniform was only worn a couple of times in 1971 and a couple in 1972 and it was discarded. The one photo is of the 4 20 game winners, l-r Mike Cuellar, Pat Dobson, Dave McNally, and Jim Palmer. This info came from "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide" and Powers Athletic themselves.

    Enjoy!

  2. 1971 Detroit Tigers Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Detroit Tigers Road Uniform Set. This uniform design was used through the 60's including the 1968 World Series with the rear names being added in 1970. The number font being used on the road jerseys was a block with serifs. I got all my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide".

Mickey Lolich and Joe Coleman were in the top 3 in strikeouts flanking Vida Blue of the A's. Lolich also led the AL in wins with 25 followed by Blue with 24 and Wilbur Wood with 22. The Tigers couldn't catch the Orioles in 1971 who had another 100+ win season. This team would come in 1st in 1972 when the Orioles were weakened with the loss of Frank Robinson to the Dodgers.

I again want to thank stecropper for all his help along with Jim825 and a few others.

    Enjoy!

  3. 1971 Baltimore Orioles Postseason Knit Road Uniform

This is the 1971 Baltimore Orioles Postseason Road Uniform Set. The Orioles originally wore the uniform in Game 3 of the ALCS in Oakland when they captured the AL crown and Games 3, 4, (1st night WS game in history...my Dad & I watched G4 until I had to go to bed since I was in 4th Grade), and 5 in Pittsburgh during the 71 World Series. I tried to be as authentic as possible using Bill Henderson's program, "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide", original color photos of the 71 WS in Pittsburgh and my 1971 WS Highlights Video. It had 2 color names and block numbers in orange on black. In the beginning of 1971, the Orioles used a double knit home jersey alternating with their old flannel one as seen in the 69 & 70 WS, and their current flannel road uni as seen also in the 69 & 70 Fall Classics. In the 71 All-Star Game and after they consisting wore their double-knit home set. They received this double knit road set to appear in Game 3 of the ALCS in Oakland. The Birds wore it again during 3 games of the World Series in Pittsburgh. That was it...they received a comparable new set in the beginning of the 1972 Season with the orange sleeve stripe again on the bottom.

I want to thank KC and the other initial uniform modders for ALL their work and especially Stecropper for ALL the time he spent and is spending with me on the telephone tutoring me in doing modding for MVP.

If you have ANY questions at all, PLEASE pm me! Enjoy another uniform from the 1971 Season!

  4. 2013 Oakland Athletics Uniform Corrections

    OAKLAND A's UNIFORM PACK 2013

My apologies that some of these issues with the As uniforms, went under the radar when I checked them for MVP 13 release.

The first correction in this pack is the now, modern/corrected wordmark for the Oakland road uniforms. As you can see from the Coco Crisp screenshot; the road uniforms had been using the pre-1993 wordmark. The correct ones are in this pack.

Secondly, I was reviewing the yellow alternate uniforms in MVP 13 and they are awful. I feel I can say that because I made these back in early 2011 when these jerseys were announced and I think the colors for the uniform are terrible <see other screenshot>. My skills in color manipulation/application have certainly improved and these are far more accurate along with the correct white outline on the font numbers and letters.

Lastly, I made some fictional alternate road uniforms for the As with the 'Oakland' wordmark and a yellow colored elephant shoulder patch.
Right now, I have them in the following slots:
Slot B = Road (Modern Correct Wordmark)
Slot D = FICTIONAL Alt. Road
Slot E = Alt. Home (Yellow)

Extract the main ZIP file and install each of the individual ZIP files for the uniforms you want to update. Feel free to to put them into other uniform slots by re-naming them and re-Zipping them up. Use TiT to install.

*Also included in the main ZIP are uniform select screens in BMP format.

    Enjoy!

  5. 1971 A's Home White Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 A's White Home uniform set. I again tried to be as authentic as possible, using Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jerseys Guide". They had 1 color Kelly Green letters with 2 color Kelly Green on Yellowish Orange Red Sox number fonts. They originally had right front number position like the 1971 Phillies. I want to thank KC for his templates and the ones who initiated uniform modding for MVP2005. I especially want to thank Stecropper who took time out of HIS schedule to tutor me on the telephone.

If you have any questions at all, please pm me! Enjoy!

    BRobby05

5/18/13--I updated the fonts. One day while I was playing a game with the A's, I noticed that some of the fonts were showing more of the yellowish orange than was correct. I looked closer and I was amazed at what I seen. It was TERRIBLE!!! I apologize for the shoddy workmanship that I uploaded!!! I tried to take care of the problem. I tested them again and I didn't see anything like before. If someone notices that there is more of the character (number or letter) outline that there should be, PLEASE let me know!

06/03/13--I updated the number "1" which was off center and really looked poor when on the back of Dick Green. I also put a "helmet button" on the batting helmet like the Royals have and extra stripe on the stirrups.

Again I apologize for really stupid mistakes!!!

  6. 1971 A's Alternate Uniform Set

This is the 1971 A's Gold Alternative set that they originally wore at home AND on the road. I'm sure that a lot of you guys can do a lot better, but here goes. I've tried my best to make this set authentically correct with the correct number font and colors that go with this historical uniform. I took my info from Bill Henderson's program..."Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide", plus I have the original 1971 ALCS Program (Baltimore's version) and it has a color photo of Earl Weaver, Dick Williams, and the umpires at home plate discussing the rules and Manager Williams is wearing this same uniform with of course his white coach's cap. If you have ANY questions, feel absolutely free to PM me. I also want to thank Stecropper publicly for taking time out of his schedule to speak with me on the telephone and to tutor me. Without his willingness, I wouldn't be posting anything at all. Thanks also to KC for his templates and the others involved with the groundwork of uniform modding!!!

6/22/2013--I replaced the numbers with my updated "Red Sox" numbers font as per 6/22/2013.

  13. 2013 USMC Camo Collection (Part One)

bctrackboi11's Gear Locker: 2013 MLB USMC CAMO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Included are several of the uniforms that every team wore on Memorial Day. Some say they are ugly, I think so too personally, but I wanted to make them anyway. I plan on doing all 30 teams, these are about about half of them. I did not make the camo fonts, however, the uniforms just use normal names and numbers.

I do know that 100% proceeds of jersey and cap sales go to Welcome Back Veterans. I own a camo Reds hat, and I have to admit it doesn't look "that" terrible.

Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, and Jim Perry made the All-Star team for 1971. Tony Oliva was supposed to start in centerfield but he was hurt so Bobby Murcer of the Yankees took his place.

  18. 1971 San Francisco Giants Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 San Francisco Giants home uniform set. Their home uniforms were manufactured by both Wilson & McAuliffe. The number font was quite unique. As you can see from the jersey above, it's a cross between block and varsity. I had to use Google, watch the taping that I have on the 1971 All-Star game, check Ebay, etc., to get a little grasp on what was being used. I believe that they used and put together their own font as they did for the 1973 jerseys and others through the franchise's history. I did my best at trying to put the font together. If there's something wrong, please pm me and I'll fix it.

Some of the players from the 1971 team were Willie Mays, Chris Speier, Ken Henderson, Gaylord Perry, John Cumberland and Dick Dietz. Willie Mays and Willie McCovey started the All-Star game and Bobby Bonds and Juan Marichal were subs. They won the NL West but were defeated in 4 games by the Pirates.

  20. 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates home uniform set. This set can be used from 1970-1976 with various patches through that time. They wore this uniform when they played the opening game in 3 Rivers Stadium in mid-1970. The jersey had 2-color block numbers on the front and back with no name. They won the NL East in 1970-1972, 1974, and 1975 with this uniform. The road jersey started using varsity numbers in 1975-76.

Some of the members of the 1971 team were Willie Stargell, Richie Hebner, Bob Robertson, Steve Blass, Dave Cash, and Dave Giusti. Willie Stargell and Dock Ellis started the All-Star, and Roberto Clemente and Manny Sanguillen were subs. Dock Ellis gave up the booming homerun to Reggie Jackson and also took the loss. The Pirates beat the Giants in the NLCS and it took them 7 games to beat the Orioles who were the favorites with their 4 20-game winners and great hitting.

  21. 1971 Milwaukee Brewers Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Milwaukee Brewers Road Uniform set. The jerseys used a number font called block with serifs which was retained from the Pilots jerseys in 1969 (serifs are considered like the feet on the one and four and the vertical bit on the end of the 2, etc.). The front number originally was a form of varsity which was a bit wider than the rear numbers. Of course, we can't illustrate that difference in the mods (at least that I know of).

Players on the 1971 Brewers were the likes of Tommy Harper, Marty Pattin, Bobby Heise, Johnny Briggs, and Jose Cardenal. As usual at this time in MLB history, the Brew Crew held up the rest of the AL West.

  23. 1972-84 Cincinnati Reds Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1972-84 Cincinnati Reds Home Uniform Set. In the screenshot, you see Joe Morgan. He and some others were involved in one of the most famous and lucrative trades in MLB history. The Reds sent Lee May, Tommy Helms, and Jimmy Stewart to the Astros for Joe Morgan, Jack Billingham, Cesar Geronimo, and Denis Menke. These 4 men would initiate the 2nd version of the "Big Red Machine"...the first being in 1970 which would plow its way to the Fall Classic only to be beaten in 5 games by the Baltimore Orioles. Morgan and Geronimo would be quite suitable for one of the new artificial turf stadiums with their speed. Along with Tolan, (and later Ken Griffey), were the likes of George Foster, Dan Driessen, and the Reds rising rookie star Dave Concepcion with the 1970 veterans of Pete Rose, Tony Perez, and Johnny Bench. Except for 1974, the Reds would constantly make the post season until the Dodgers would take over for 1977-78. The Reds' usual nemesis in the NLCS would most always be the Pirates except in 1973 (Mets) and 1976 (Phillies). They beat the Pirates in 1970 (3 straight), 1972 (3 out of 5), 1975 (3 straight), but would lose in 3 straight in 1979 due to some injuries and Rose going to the Phillies.

This uniform was worn from 1972 to 1984. In 1985-1987, the uniform itself would stay basically the same but the number font would change from the bold block to the Reds varsity that you would see in the 1990 World Series. I got all my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide".

I want to thank again Stecropper and all those who got the modding up and moving on this site. I also want to thank the fella who made the catcher's gear, batting gloves and wristbands Spungo (?).

  24. 1972-87 Reds Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1972-87 Reds Road Uniform set. 1972 was the 1st year for the Reds with their new double knit jerseys 1 1/2 years after entering a brand new stadium. Along with the new uniforms came one of the best and famous trades of MLB that sent Lee May, Tommy Helms, and Jimmy Stewart to name a few to the Astros for Joe Morgan, Jack Billingham, Denis Menke, and Cesar Geronimo. Immediately, they got back into the NLCS and beat the Pirates in 5 (with a little help by Bob Moose's wild pitch), but got beat by the mustached Oakland A's in 7 (without Reggie Jackson). Pete Rose is documented in saying, "We let 1 man beat us," (meaning Gene Tenace with his 4 HR's). Maybe he was crying the "Reds" because the A's pitching staff of Holtzman, Hunter, Fingers, Odom, and company held Morgan, Tolan, and himself to 16 hits out of 78 abs in a 7-game World Series. Reds such as Mike LaCoss, Bill Bonham, Dave Collins, Nick Esasky, Ron Oester, and Tom Seaver also wore this jersey through its stretch.

I got my info again from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". Thanks to all especially Stecropper who initiated this site and its mods. I will be using this one in the coming TC1983 that I plan on doing.

  25. 1971 Washington Senators Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Washington Senators Home uniform set. 1971 was the last year for the Washington Senators. During the 1971-72 off-season, the team moved to Arlington, Texas, and became the Texas Rangers.

Big Frank Howard was the last Senator to be in the All-Star Game. Curt Gowdy made the comment, while calling the game, "This is a guy that eats 6 or 8 eggs for breakfast, a couple of steaks...and that's just to start." Gowdy also mentioned that he asked Ted Williams who hit the longest homerun that he saw, and Ted said Frank Howard. Howard bounced out to Beckert when he pinch-hit for Jim Palmer about the middle of the game. Other fellas that played on the 71 team that would become pretty good ballplayers were Jeff Burroughs and a young Toby Harrah. The former Cy Young winner Denny McLain, and Don Mincher, Paul Lindblad, Horatio Pina, and Tim Cullen would play on 1 or more A's teams from 1972-74 who would win World Championships.

Of course, the Senators still wore the flannel uniforms with their own particular number font with touches of both block and Wilson Varsity. The uniforms would be recycled for the Rangers' spring training during the Spring of 1972. They would remove "Senators" and place "Rangers" on top. The number font would be also recycled...the home numbers would be used throughout the 70's but the road ones would be replaced in 1975.

As always, I got my uniform info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". I also want to thank all those who laid the groundwork for this site. Until I discovered this site, I thought MVP 2005 was boring because you couldn't edit the teams. I'm REALLY enjoying this!!!
