I might be onto something here. The slot realignment worked PERFECTLY but the hex values are wrong so everything is not labeled properly, and as such the uniforms that show up are all wrong.
-
Oh thank heavens I know how to auto increment in Excel.
-
All I am doing is changing the slot numbers that the roster reads. Team IDs would still the same. What I'm trying to deal with right now is the amount of uniforms I want to add for each team, which is difficult when dealing with the first set of teams like Arizona and Houston because if I wanted to add more uniforms to teams higher up on the list this would be a major hassle to rearrange everything again.
-
What I'm going to try and do is re-order the slot numbers to add the jerseys and see if that works. If it works then all we have to worry about is labeling the new slots. If all else fails, then...
-
It doesn't. If you change the filename of the uniforms, the title of the slots would still be the same in the game. For example, if I renamed uniform_ard_home.iff to uniform_ard_road.iff and changed the road jerseys to the filename of the home jersey, all that would do is change the jersey but not the title of the uniform slot, so the game would read it as Home uniform but it show the Road jersey. When I add a uniform slot to the roster, all Ty's editor does is add the uniform filename to whatever slot I choose and assign the team ID to the uniform so it shows up on the list of uniforms for that team. I think I would have to reorder every uniform listed in the game to add those slots in the proper order instead of being in the end of the roster file and then assign all of them the proper team IDs/labels. I'll give that a try tonight and see what happens.

I'm not trying to reposition old uniform slots. I'm trying to reposition newer ones so that the game lists them before the BP Home jersey. This doesn't require renaming uniforms in the 2K12 directory.
-
That's easy to do, but what I'm trying to do is change where the new uniforms are placed in the uniform select screen. For example, the St. Louis Cardinals have a new home alternate this year. In my uniform update that uniform is uniform_slc_alt_h.iff, and it's assigned slot 459 in the colorlist you import using Ty's roster editor. In the game, since it is a new uniform slot, it's the last uniform for the Cardinals, right after their classic away uniforms. What I'm trying to do is have that Home Alternate uniform be listed right after the Road uniform and before the Batting Practice Home uniform instead of being the last uniform for their team, so instead of: Home Road BP Home BP Road Classic Home Classic Road Home Alternate it should be Home Road Home Alternate BP Home BP Road Classic Home Classic Road

The adjustments work, but my request was purely for cosmetic purposes.
-
Holy crap. OK, now let's tweak this further. How about moving the additional uniform slots in front of the slot the game provides for the BP uniforms? We might be on to making this version of MLB 2K12 the most amazing game yet if its' possible to move the new uniforms with labels in the right order

Quoted. Works like a charm. You know, a light theme has improved the site visually. In no way is it a way of me putting down the old red/white/black theme but this is a nice change of pace :)

You know, this default layout is not that bad. Except the whole Helvetica/Arial font. Verdana is where it's at. For everything.
-
Sure. Here it is, with extra uniform slots for the Mets, Padres, Blue Jays, Royals, Cardinals, Nationals, D'backs and Brewers Roster.zip

Quoted text does not display properly when you quote a user/post

Barbarians/Vikings are some of the teams you can create in MLB 2K12. Their uniforms/logos are readily available to use in the game so I wouldn't really want to remove that since it's a feature of the game itself. What I want to be able to do is add a uniform slot in a roster and cross reference that uniform slot with text from the English.iff file. For example: The Cardinals Home Alternate is not in the game. I added a uniform slot for them, but it's not labeled or ID'd as a Home Alternate. What I want to is be able to link that slot to the text that reads Home Alternate in the English.iff file. It's probably something small for me but it would be cool to add slots and label them accordingly instead of having a blank label on a uniform slot.
-
Holy crap. So from what I read, English.iff has lines that the .ROS file references? Since I have added uniform slots to the rosters, would I have to hex edit the .ROS file to reference the right bytes from English.iff, like Home Alternate, Road Alternate, etc? Do you think it's possible to create lines in the English.iff file and reference them in the .ROS file? I'm hoping I make sense, it's 4:26 in the morning here in New York

Robbie Grossman (CF, Houston Astros) has 2 N's in his last name when there should only be one ;)
-
I want to change 1998 Home/Away to 2001 Home/Away.
-
I wonder if it's possible to edit the uniform names in the .ROS file. For example, I'm looking to rename both the Rays and the D'Backs throwback uniforms from "1998" to "2001".
-
I'll get around to it. It's only 1.0 as of this post, anyway .

There are some players (the names slip me) where they'll be pitchers but have fielding gear on the mound, like a wristband or a batting glove on their fielding glove hand. Just curious if there was any way to fix that
-
Definitely. A pleasant surprise for me was seeing a 3D player face when the player did not have a proper photo (at the time I didn't download the 2K13 portrait pack). It was deadly accurate Also, what I would recommend is keeping the default uniform slots from the stock 2K list. Not everyone is going to have the same slot IDs or even the same uniform slot, so it's best to keep it default and let other people import the colorlists they want that have uniform slots for extra uniforms included.
-
About the cyberfaces: I feel that they complete and "make" the roster. What I would do at the very least is include the Face ID numbers for the Cyberfaces available to download on the site. Either way, you're not modifying anything but the face ID (where applicable), so it would be I guess, okay to include cyberfaces by the community that aren't already in the game by 2K. Unless someone throws a tantrum about it, which since it's just cyberfaces, I would find to be ridiculous. Just credit everyone involved and you should be in the clear ;)
