Consistent quality work is the name of the game, my friend. I'd rather spend months trying to get something right before releasing it If I could just try and get this to work on low-end PCs without the performance hit....

It's been released, enjoy!

Version 2.0

Included are several files that will adjust the visuals of the game to a more realistic, grounded, HD tone. I managed to adjust the bloom, sharpening, gamma values and anti-aliasing detail across all aspects of MLB2K12. White/Bright colored jerseys now look bright during day/night games, skin has a much more realistic tone, day games look and feel like day games, and the game overall resembles an actual TV broadcast. As you should know, using this mod may cause your game to take a performance hit. To remedy this, make sure you turn the MSAA settings to "Off" in the Advanced Video Settings menu in the Options. It is also recommended that you have a high-spec computer with a recent video card (this was made on a Geforce GTX 750 Ti card), otherwise you would have to adjust your video card settings due to the performance hit. Also, adjust your Anti-Aliasing settings outside of the game using the nVidia display tool if you use an nVidia graphics card, or Catalyst Control Center if you have an ATI graphics card. HOW TO INSTALL Simply copy ALL OF the contents (including all associated folders) from this file into your MLB 2K12 directory. Your MLB 2K12 directory can be either in: OR Then, simply start the game up, and enjoy. To turn OFF the visual effects, press SCROLL LOCK on your keyboard. HOW TO UNINSTALL To UNINSTALL, delete the following files from your MLB 2K12 directory: Enjoy! -

I'll take a look at adjusting the bloom later today since it's giving me fits during night games. Since I did the lighting tweak across all stadiums, whites look extremely ridiculously bright :| I hope some people try it out though, it looks nice.

You probably read this wondering, OK, what's a photomod? A photomod is a group of files that you move into your MLB2K12 directory that will adjust various settings, force some effects and modify all visual aspects of the game. I saw a few photomods around the net that included the ENB series, some are a combination of the FXAA tool and ENB series, and others included just the FXAA Tool. The update I'm using is called the "SweetFX Shader Suite", a universal image improvement and tweaking mod that works with almost any DirectX game. It merges 3 mods - InjectSMAA, FXAATool and LumaSharpen into one, and it allows all of the effects to be used with combination with each other. I wanted to upload this photomod update but I am looking to test it out on several high-end computers so I can tweak it enough to release. I'll upload the file itself in this post for you guys to try out and post some screenshots. If you are using any of the Photomods featured here at MVPMods, make sure you clear them from your MLB2K12 directory before installing this update as it will not play nice with other photomods. Included in the .RAR below are several files that will adjust the visuals of the game to a more realistic, HD tone, similar to the MLB:The Show series on PS3. I managed to adjust the bloom, sharpening, gamma values and anti-aliasing detail across all aspects of MLB2K12. White/Bright colored jerseys now look bright during day/night games, skin has a much more realistic tone, and the game overall looks like an actual TV broadcast. As this mod is a bit of a work in progress (for example, I have to really tweak the bloom effects) and 100% free, expect future updates. As you should know, using photomods may cause your game to take a performance hit. To remedy this, make sure you turn the MSAA settings to "Off" in the Advanced Video Settings menu in the Options. Also, adjust your Anti-Aliasing settings outside of the game using the nVidia display tool if you use an nVidia graphics card, or Catalyst Control Center if you have an ATI graphics card. Here's some screens to sell you on this tweak: That said, let's get this show on the road. Install this by extracting all files to your MLB2K12 directory. Your MLB 2K12 directory can be either in: OR Start the game up, and you can use the PAUSE key on the keyboard to toggle the effects ON/OFF. Enjoy.

Nope, mipmaps are the images the DDS file will generate when you zoom in/out of an object like a shoe.

Maybe the main texture is replaced but the mipmaps are not

Twnlove In Mlb 2K12 ( A.j.c.y Mod. Rlsd! In ..... Pg.15 O )

THIS IS AWESOME. -
That would probably be a gameplay feature that you would have to hard code into the game, so I'm not sure anyone would go about implementing that :|

Vlad does his Reditor in two flavors, one with limited options and the other is the full blown version of the editor that lets you do everything. Donating would grant you a license for one of those versions. I think he would make the full blown version of his Reditor program for free if we donated enough money for his efforts. Given that we won't get a yearly version of this game on PC anymore compared to the NBA 2K series, I think we'd be okay with a one time collective donation I'm going full steam ahead with re-doing all the stadium lighting profiles as well as grass changes and uploading it in a nice little zip file. My only setback is that I never want to upload something that's hard or complicated to implement. It's a little difficult in trying to explain this to the casual player who just wants to achieve that visual update and doesn't have the technical know-how to do it. After that, I'll probably start replacing every player image that shows up in the background and working my way through replacing the whole "2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K12" theme. Of course, none of this will happen ASAP, but it sure as hell will keep me occupied during the offseason.

We've definitely accomplished a great deal. From what the game used to look like to what it looks like now, it's literally an entirely new game visually. 2K should be giving us a massive amount of props. That said, about the Astros..... Logo swaps/uniforms I can definitely do. Division alignment is most likely going to be done when Vlad comes out with his Reditor since it would most likely allow for that kind of thing. I should be able to balance everything out somehow between work, dating and making music soon ;)

The fact that with this update I can play a game of MLB2K12 with my entire team in a suit is the most ridiculously awesome thing I have ever seen

There is a version of the Reditor for MLB2K11 by Vlad that will be coming soon for MLB2K12 when he has enough time to do so. The guy lives in Russia so who knows. Therein lies the problem. A lot of us modders have things occupying our time off the PC where it's hard to commit to making some pretty decent mods. Especially when our work is 100% free, expect some of us to take our time. I have a lot of things to take care of like updating the uniforms again (I am probably halfway done with that as of this post) and contemplating releasing all the stadium lighting/grass updates in one package for people to import. My situation is that I have work taking up all of my time among other things going on outside of the net, so a lot of updates are going to be coming out in short spurts here and there:(

Anyone Going To Post A Mlb2K12 Franchise This Year?
Kccitystar replied to Griz891's topic in Franchises
Mapping issues have kept me from making a mega post with all the parks. It's tricky.
