  1. I was reading up on dual core vs. quad core in relation to some older games and I'm finding that it's possible that dumbing your PC down to 1 or 2 cores might be a solution to have it running better. This is total conjecture on my part as I have very limited knowledge about this. But.... MVP came out in 2005 which means it was developed in 2004. Multi-core technology didn't hit the streets until 2005. So it stands to reason that MVP might run better if you keep your system running at 1 or 2 cores, if you happen to run tri or quad-core, especially if you're running something later than Windows XP. It's very easy to change the processors your PC is using and it shouldn't damage anything or make it run any hotter, unless you overtax it with running tons of applications at one time (that would be the reason to keep the quad core running instead). Steps to change your processors utilized number: Click on your START button in the lower left corner of your tray Type in the search window: msconfig Wait a moment and an appelet box should pop up Click on the Boot tab Click on Advanced options Tick ON the Number of processors box Select 1 or 2.... whatever you want to try Restart your PC It could be that running with 2 processors and the compatibility options in place for MVP that it might help with the stability of the game. But don't hold me to it. As far as compatibility, you access this by right clicking on your MVP shortcut, choose properties and select the following: When I applied this to Tiger Woods 08 Golf, it seemed to do the trick in terms of my frame rate. Good luck.
  2. 1) It should. I was the one who changed the name from "dynasty" to "season" with it being a text edit only. It should advance. 2) Keep in mind that the scouting reports may have been written for earlier players and the Byron Buxton you are looking at was since created. The player reports are text file placements as well which probably correspond to a player's given ID number. But you can't see these in the roster editor. You can change the players' ages utilizing,I believe, the schedule updater application.
  3. Great stuff.
  4. Great work man..... I know the guys who play multiple seasons and minor leagues are really appreciating this.
  5. For me it would depend on how Perfect Golf feels and plays. If it's too mechanical, don't care how it looks. Needs the opportunity to set it up to play, feel and look like real golf.
  6. Thanks.... there should be a corrected one which will be in MVP 15.
  7. Wow...close to 70 people already downloaded and didn't leave any feedback!! Pretty weak guys. This stuff takes a lot of time. (yes, that would make you leechers) Thanks so very much in all your efforts Rising Son!
  8. I did...but he was already on the ground..... didn't hear me. Honestly, it's all purty and the what not, but in the end that runs out. So I guess do you want to walk away from a game saying to yourself that it was a good game because it played the way or because it looked that way.
  9. OS? To what directory did you install it? Was your clean install officially patched first?
  10. I'd probably play more Madden 08 if I could figure out how to get rid of the converging yellow arrows to the target. It's goofy.
  11. I get the sense that you either really like or dislike The Show...there's little in-between. I tried it to for several years and for lack of a better term, MVP just feels more "organic" to me. Yes, the animations are getting tired as the years have gone on. Now, I've heard The Show is better with this, but the hitting when I was playing never seemed natural to me in terms of the pitch type, pitch location and ensuing ball flight when the ball was hit. Some people would call that scripted, I believe. I also didn't like the interface... just too busy. And the classic pitching left a lot to be desired. I could not justify in my mind at any salary to pay $400+ because I want to play The Show.

  13. The game has 2 basic default angles where you are essentially getting the catcher's view or you're behind the pitcher. Modder's here discovered a "file within a file" that they could mod and get various camera angles for all sorts of different things (datafile.txt which are always placed within the 'data' subfolder). That's why when you look in the MVP2005 area for downloads you see a "camera/datafile" section all to itself. So it depends on what kind of view you're looking for. Keep in mind that the data.txt file can affect other things on the field, like ball physics, etc. So someone who manipulated one of these files may have changed multiple things simultaneously. If you want a great challenge, give this a go. The behind the pitcher angle is straight on. '&do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  14. Wonderful work! Wonderful pack! But it's a shame that a face will be on a player (Mookie Betts) who will be back in AA very soon. (I keed! I keed!)
  15. I might give it a shot again, but last time I tried I couldn't get rid of the ridge outline. How do I get into the Pressbox?
  16. Works right in there with my Canadian adage for technology.... "When in doot....reboot!"
  17. Maybe because it's retiring players? Probably because dennis already patched the version he was upgrading. Maybe your graphics drivers? Roll them back. I remember when I used to use an ATI card, I would have problems, including stuttering/shuddering during a throw, etc. I went back to some earlier ATI vid driver version and it worked well.
  18. Matt Harvey is exceptionally good!
  19. Sure...I've had a question for him and NOW he shows up!
  20. Hey man.... be my guest to organize a league!
  21. Not gonna happen, Neils.... these threads die as quickly as they come up.
  22. Did you read my reply in the actual support thread? No need to start a new support thread. And kyleb is correct. When you start a season or dynasty you are asked to save it (or lose it) which creates a .SAV file. In essence you are sectioning off the rosters you choose to use for your dynasty. ANY new roster set creates a new default or base roster set for the game.
  23. Submitted what where? Go to the support thread. I have a reply in there. This is the review thread.
  24. You're such a homer! hehe!
  25. Job well done Kyle.... thanks for letting me help out the bit that I did. People just see the end product and need to realize the work that goes into not only creating and placing players in the correct areas but the speed bumps you encounter along the way. FYI players: I loaded and simmed through an entire season with injuries and suspensions turned ON and had no problems at all. If you have a crash, there could be something else in your set-up, but I guarantee it's not these rosters. For you guys having trouble seeing the changes, don't just overwrite the old .dat files. Delete them and unzip these to the same sub-folder. If you're still not seeing them, make sure your MVP shortcut is pointing to the proper install.
