It definitely was ridiculous. It reminded me of when my kid was playing Summer league ball and at the end of one game, another kid on his team who was emotionally challenged was cursing about something near the end of the game, but not directly at the umpire. The ump suspended him for the next game. I had no problem with it, until I heard the ump soon after talking about the kid as people were exiting the park and cursing himself. I lost it. I wasn't going to hit the guy, but the way I went toward him I could see where people thought I was. If I remember right, it was something the ump said right after my brother made some type of provoking comment (he was good at that at sporting events), but the point was the ump was referring to the troubled kid. I would never had hit him, but I thought the kid needed a little defending at the time. My wife wasn't too happy with me, but I'd do it exactly the same way all over again.

The game has a limit of 4 rosters displayed. You can take a list out of the folder and store it nearby, but the game won't allow you to save more than 4. You can also change the extension to something other than ".sav", but still the total .sav's in the folder will be 4.

I have this game, but never liked the converging arrows on a pass and never found a way to turn them off.

Thanks, but I have a question. There are 7 gloves in the fielders FSH file with the 1B's glove as #7, not 6. I would imagine that if you install these, all current 1B with a "6" for fielding glove type (color, as it's called in the attrib.dat file) is not going to look like a 1B mitt. No?

I think you're right.... many of the mods are in. The HDR is not as some PCs might not be able to handle it. The dirt/grass rez is a matter of taste as to which you use. This past year I also updated the pre-game and in-game text menus (LOC files), though not any team names and there is also a generic portrait ID overall and per team if you don't like the silhouette heads.

Probably not natively. Isn't there a program that allows your PC to recognize your PS3 controller? Google that. Then it's a matter of configuring the controller file or perhaps the program will allow you to assign buttons. If that doesn't work, you may be able to use JoyToKey (i.e., assign keyboard commands to a given gamepad), provided you can get your PC to recognize and activate your PS3 controller.

Although it was recommended for W7 and not XP, maybe try installing it to your desktop (not simply moving the master file) versus your program files folder. Can't hurt to try.

What type of a game are you entering? Are you trying to use a newer custom stadium usually reserved for minor league stadiums? I'm sure Dennis can put you on the right track.

Wow...that's surprising that it's XP. And you sound like you know your way around your files. So your error is when the game FIRST/INITIALLY loads or when you try to go into a game to play?

And correct me if I'm wrong, Homer, but the more you mess with doing edits and CAPs within the game itself, the more you risk the entire SAV file becoming corrupt and unusable?

I believe this is a shortcoming of the game or maybe that was the rule back in 2004. Either way, it doesn't seem doable.

I believe .SAV files are only editable within the game itself. I believe there was a modder here a while ago who did it, but there was never a mod put out for it that I know of and searching for threads on how to do this would be tough because of the short file name type.

Yes. You have to have the "short season projector" app or your game will typically get stuck on it trying to simulate a one game playoff.

I don't think this is a new one. If problems with injuries, suspensions and trades being on are going to happen in season. It would be right around then. If you have all of those off, it could be a face, stadium or uniform.

It seems you resolved playing on W8 and the problem is probably the rosters not being filled (24 to 25 players for each minor league team and 25 players per MLB team). I don't ever play full seasons and go into the next season, worry about draft, etc. So it seems clear that this is the problem for you. If you can sim an entire season (with everything turned off), then you can play an entire season (with everything turned off). The problem comes when the game programming has to start shifting players around as in trades, drafts, etc. You can either solve your problem now by going into the roster management area from your main screen, filling rosters from the FA pool to the above needed numbers/squad, saving and then loading that roster and then starting a new season/franchise. Otherwise, if you can use MVPedit, you can fill in the rosters from the FA pool within that program. If there are not enough players to go around or you don't want to use existing players to go into organizations where they shouldn't be, you can import fake players via the attached .met file (which is an MVPedit file for holding an entire team). This attached file holds 25 generic players at various positions with the last name of "Placeholder". You can import and assign duplicates of these players (that is, you can import this fake team as many times as you want to fill slots and then delete the leftovers in the FA pool if you want to). Your only other option is to wait and see if MVP15 will be a reality next year and if the rosters will be more filled. Good luck. Generic Team MVPedit.zip
