I think Cano should be a little higher, seeing as how he is arguably the best 2B after Utley.

he was (vs only 2nd basemen)

13th in Fpct last season

10th in Range Factor last season

9th in zone rating last season

20th in runs scored last season

7th in HRs last season

6th in RBI last season

15th in SB last season

Second best ????????????????????????????????????

Imagine if he didn't miss 40 games...those numbers would look a lot better. Let us not forget he was also third in the batting race. And the missing 40 games does not hurt his argument for the batting title, he had enough plate appearances to qualify.

If he has another good year, he'll be right up there. I think the 2b list is the only list you can argue who should be on it. The rest of the positions look pretty good to me.

lol Kraw...14 games into the season...14...maybe if he was hitting .100 or something you could criticize him.

Among qualifying second basemen last season, he had the highest OPS+ in the league.

Most defensive metrics agree that he is about average fielding wise.

He is just 24.

.342 average last season as a 23 year old - the Replacement Level Yankees Blog did some research and found that almost every player to bat that high at such a young age had a very good career.

He also had the most doubles among all second basemen last season - hitters who get lots of doubles are the ones most likely to be consistently good or better. http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2007/...uble_minded.php
